www.SecondWorldWarHistory.com is a private venture website I developed that showcases articles covering people, events and weaponry in World War 2. I elected to take a more "video gamey-type" approach with the interface to capture a specific mood with the design.
The design was constructed in Photoshop using imagery, custom effects and shapes. Colors are purposefully kept drab to mimic a war time feel of an old radio or communication equipment (a picture of an old Soviet radio was actually used as help for this look).
www.SecondWorldWarHistory.com currently sees about 300 unique visitors a day.
