NOTE: This project is still in active development.
MainStreet Tycoon represents my first foray into brower-based games development. The basic idea of the game is to allow the player 12 turns (equal to 12 months of game time or 1 year) to build up a dying mainstreet in AnyTown USA.
The game features 20 building types to select from and build on 9 building plots. Bonuses such as a park, street lamp upgrades and a train station are scattered within the game play. The player must keep constant watch over the happiness, unhappiness, revenue and waste generated by his/her selections.
Individual buildings were modeled and textured in 3D Studio Max with textures produced in Photoshop. Images are all PNG to retain the crispness of the models as opposed to using GIF or JPG images. Coding is in ActionScript 2.0.
MainStreet Tycoon is a one-man effort as I am responsible for every facet of it's development thus far. Upon completion, the game will be featured at www.MainStreetTycoon.com to which I maintain domain ownership of.
